We need to prioritize our decisions.
4 examples from the bible of putting Jesus first.
1) The Pharisees and the sinful woman
Luke 7:39-47
Jesus went to the house, and they did not wash his feet.
But a woman came and used her hair to wash the feet with perfume
The Pharisees says she is a sinner
Jesus used the example of money lender with high debts and low debts
The one with higher debts will appreciate the forgiveness even more
Lesson here is a person with a sinful pass will get forgiven and loved by God, as The sinner first loved God even more.
2) Mary and Martha
Luke 10.40-42
Both of them are believers and both of them love Jesus.
One has time to follow jesus, and another was busy with God`s work in the kitchen
It`s good to spend time with God rather than being busy ourselves
Giving quality time is also important.
We have to do our quiet time and prayers everyday
3) Judas and Mary
John 12.7-8
Mary used expensive perfumed on Jesus
Judas Iscariot criticizes her and says the perfume can be used to sell for money to help the poor
Jesus says that he will not be with them for a long time. The woman who does it expresses her love for Jesus.
Mary used the time very well.
To comfort Jesus on a few days later he will be crucified.
The disciples did not realize that
4) the widow and the rich
She offered everything she has to god. Two coins compared to the portion given by the rich
God does not look at the amount whether it`s big or small
God wants to see our heart as God sees things in a different way.
