The picture of Joseph is one of the most sense to people during Christmas.
Joseph needs to live that can be a good example. Every man will go through different stages as a father, and Joseph is a common person he was a carpenter.
Qualities of Joseph
1) he chooses good things.
He has good ethics and follows after God.
Joseph was engaged to Mary, they were in the contract to be married.
He was engaged to Mary but not officially married yet.
Mary was conceived by the holy spirit.
An angel appeared to Joseph to explain and that Jesus will be born.
Mary being pregnant is a big thing for the juice as she was not married.
A normal person will be shocked when their fiance is pregnant without being together.
2) Joseph listens to God
Joseph knew it was not good for Mary, so he brought her home as a wife but did not consummate the marriage until Jesus was born.
Joseph was the head of the family.
Sometimes the father in a family may be stuck in a difficult situation and do not know which way to go.
Joseph listens to god, and accepted Mary as his wife.
3) Joseph chose the will of God.
He decided to marry Mary according to God`s instructions.
He did not follow the desires of the flesh but follow the will of God first.
Did not consummate that marriage before Jesus was born.
Joseph gave out his home, took Mary and Jesus to escape to Egypt.
He also did not choose name for his own child as the name Jesus was given by God
4) follows the word of God.
He was ready to accept God`s will
And he took on a big responsibility.
Jesus is not a common person, as he will be crucified on the cross for the people.
We have to be ready to go through difficulties
We cannot choose what kind of child we want to have.
Example a strong willed child.
Joseph stayed in Egypt till Herod`s death.
How did Joseph raise his child?
1) Joseph is close to the church
He brings his children to church from Young.
Sabbath day is a good day for the child to learn about God.
2) brings children to Christian schools
That teaches about the Bible so that every day the child can be exposed to God`s teachings.
3) on special holidays, he celebrated in the temples
4) his home he teach his children skills from his home.
That they are near to him and he can watch the progress. They became good carpenters.
He was successful as a father.
Look at the life of Jesus as the example.
And Jesus as a child that loves God.
All together Joseph had six children, five of them were with Mary.
