Ezekiel saw a vision, of a strange looking four faced animal.

God gave the answer at the end of the chapter. Ezekiel 1.28 it was a an image to represent Jesus who has not come to the Earth yet.

Front - human, back - eagle, side 1- lion, side 2- ox.

Ephesians 4.13

Football clubs use the faces of the four images as their logos.

To be like Jesus, we have to be like the four animals.

 

1) human

Jesus came as a person. Luke 1.31

Jesus is a common name for a commoner.

Matthew 9.35

Matthew 21.38

Mark 4.38

Jesus was hungry, thirsty, sleeps when tired, He was a student, a carpenter.

John19.28, Mark 6.3, Luke 2.42,

Jesus mixed around with sinful people, He was exposed to temptation, overall a normal person.

Hebrews 4. 15

He was approachable.

 

2) image of an eagle

-good in prayer. Mark 1.35

-that`s his quiet time.

-He suffered. Luke 4.34, Matthew 4.16

-change of body. Luke 9.29

-a healer. Mark 1.34

-performs miracles. Mark 6.41

-walks on water. Mark 6.48

-resurrects from death

-is omnipresent, omnipotent.

 

3) image of a lion

-king of mammals.

-symbol of a leader. Luke 19.28

-protects the disciples. Mark 2.23 to 25

-picked his disciples.

-exposes corruption. Mark 14.62, Luke 20.24

-sacrifices for others. John18.8

-Sees visions. Luke 13.29

 

4) image of an ox.

-to the Jews, oxen works very hard and later was sacrificed for meat.

-not respected but used for hard work

-Jesus was a humble person, he washes the feet of his disciples. John 13.4-5

-Jesus was poor. He had no place to sleep.

-Jesus borrows the boat, borrows the tomb for his burial. Luke 1.7, John 1.46

-son of a carpenter, he had a very simple basic life

- He was ready to serve others. Matthew 20:25

-carry the crucifix. And crucified on the cross

-a servant leader
