Win over limitations in life
1 Samuel 17:38-58
David versus Goliath
David as a small young man could win Goliath the great Giant warrior.
We can win over our limitations when we have the support and determination as well.
Look at an ant Hill
It is built by the tiny ant that can be as big as half the size of a football field.
Goliath was about 2.9 M tall
The tallest man and basketball player Yao Ming is just 2.26 m
How to win over limitations (lessons from David)
1. Stop comparing with others.
All of us have our own strengths and weaknesses there is basically no need to compare.
All of us have limitations in life.
David is small but the size became his strength as he is a child and fast.
Being very young also give him a lot of strength and agility.
Sometimes our weaknesses can be turned into our strengths.
Knowing God allows us to know ourselves better and we use our strengths and improve over our weaknesses.
We have value as created by God
We can increase our strengths in the way we live our lives.
Sharing and giving Will further increase our values and strengths.
2) try to increase our own value / skill
David was a shepherd but sees the value in his job by improving the value.
Such as how to take care of the goats to ensure that they grow up well
He uses the slings to ward off wild animals.
God wants to teach and guide us. Job 6:24
3) think outside of the box.
The Philistines sends goliath, and David volunteered to help out israel.
As nobody volunteered
David has won over bigger enemies before such as the bears and the lions.
So he prepared five stones with a sling
Luke 5:38 to 39
4) convert difficulties to become the power for life.
Mick fool use of the limitations we have.
Do not allow limitations to control and limit our work.
Philippians 4:13
