Nehemiah returned from Babylon as a slave to help build the wall for Jerusalem.
Nehemiah wanted to build the wall for Jerusalem so he prayed to God and when he entered the palace, the king notice that he was sad and ask him why, and Nehemiah reply that he was sad for Jerusalem and wanted to return back.
God gives us a meaning and Target in our lives.
Chapter 9 Nehemiah recorded the works in Jerusalem
V1-8. Ezra started meeting and the Jews start to repent
9-15. We see the mercies of God after the juice repent. They fasted and war gunny sacks.
The Jews want to start life over again.
God can see that genuineness and loyalty so God forgave the past sins.
God allowed them to cross the red sea and get out from Egypt.
God took care of them, in the day guiding them with the cloud, provided food for the millions of people, provided water from the rocks. They did not lack anything. God also divided the land with the 12 tribes.
V 26-17
Pride and disobedience entered.
They started to worship idols they made themselves, the golden calf.
God and George them just like God always forgives us.
V19
He`s real separated into different sections. The 10 tribes in the north did not want Jesus, their land was taken from God and Babylonian conquered them
V22-26
God allowed them to conquer several Nations and live prosperous lives. In verse 26 it showed that they were still stubborn and killed the prophets that God sent them, which God wanted to remind them of their wrongs.
Then God allowed King Nebuchadnezzar to punish them, allows the enemies to punish them, falling into the Babylonian`s hands.
Today we are believers and we are righteous in God`s eyes
V38. The Jews fulfilled the promises to be loyal to God.
When we returned and repent with a humble heart, God forgives us.
Lessons to learn
1. God teaches us and leads us to lead the life to be more like Christ, to arrive at the final destination. God wants us to follow the target.
2. When we sin, we must quickly repent and return to God.
3. God has mercy and endurance for our sins and disobedience.
God prepares something good for us.
4. God is ready to forgive us forever. And will never forsake us.
