Life of Jacob. Jacob loves Rachel

Jacob received the blessings from Isaac even though Esau was the older child.

Jacob went out and saw 3 herds of goats waiting to drink water. He saw Rachel and asked her for a drink. Rachel fed him 

and all the goats too. Rachel was the daughter of Laban. Jacob worked hard for 7 years for Laban, 

just for the hand of Rachel. Question: Who do we sacrifice for today? Jacob sacrificed and tolerated to marry Rachel.

After 7 years Laban gave him Leah instead but Laban promised Rachel 7 days later if he promises to work another 7 years.

 

V.20 Seven years seems like a few days because he loved Rachel.

1) Because of love, things are easy. If we love Jesus, every obstacle becomes easy.

Following Jesus is not easy. Jacob faced hard work, obstacles, troubles and problems

Love makes us conquer everything.

 

2) Not a custom to give a younger daughter first. He had to work another 7 years for her.

Because Jacob loves Rachel, he agreed.

Because we love Jesus, we can also forgive others. And 

willing to listen.

3) Because love can wait.

-toleration

-wait in hopefulness, anticipation, and in sincerity.

Those who serve God working really hard and at the same time wait for Jesus
