How to be a good child in this world and live life with a purpose. (1 Thessalonians 5:12-22)
Background story Acts 17:1-9  Paul speaks to the Thessalonians. Paul`s aim was to go to Greater
Asia to teach. He went from Jerusalem to Antioch, cross the sea over to Philippi. There he met Lydia
and brought her to believe. Paul was put in jail, but God caused an earthquake and he was released.
Paul managed to bring many people to believe, but he created a lot of envy. He was in Thessalonica
for less than a week and was forced to leave, where he moved South and went to Athens and back to Samaria.

Signs that Paul was a good, faithful child of God (V. 12-14)
1. Final Instructions from Paul
1.1.  Hold those who work hard (teach, protect) in high respects. We as children of God need to respect
those who work hard for us. Such as parents, teachers, rulers, pastors etc
1.2   Respect and love them for the k they had done. We are here today because of the hard work
our parents had done.
1.3.  Live in peace with each other. Very important even if we have different ideologies.  Peace is important
and we have to ask God for understanding.
1.4.  Warn those Christians who are idol or disruptive.
1.5.  Encourage the disheartened. Help them regarding their spiritual, physical and emotional aspects.
Help those that are suffering.
1.6.  Help the weak and be patient with everyone.

2. To be Careful  Verse 15Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do
what is good for each other and for everyone else.
Acts 17                   17:5-7

Jealousy, form mobs, say bad thin, start riots, threaten and bully. These are bad things and wrongdoings

1 Thessalonians 2:14  You suffer from your own people the same thing those churches suffered
from the Jews. We should not repay bad for bad. And if we want to reach their hearts, we have to give
them our hearts first. We should not be bitter.

3. V, 16, 17, 18, 21,  22
To Be:
- Rejoice Always
- Pray Always
- Be thankful for all things always
- Find prove for everything using the Bible
- Flee from all things sinful and evil. Turn your back to them.

4. V 19/20
Things that should not do:
- Do not quench the Spirit. Do not block the Spirit. When the Spirit talks, do not suppress it.
Acts 8:29. The Spirit told Philip and He followed.
- Do not treat prophesies with contempt
- Do not defame others.

Paul urges, warns and orders us.

Questions for Cell Group:
1) Why did Paul want us to give respect to those who work hard?
2) After following these orders, what will happen?
