There are 2 words which mean differently. The first one is Be friendly means be acquainted
Be friend means be companion or kind.
Be friend with Jesus means:
1. Eat with them (Mark 2:15), accept them, evaluate them, listen to them and understand them.
2. Honor them which is different from Pharisee (2:16), the way we call people (Luke 19:8) praise them their good points (John 1:47)
3. Love sinful people but hate sin such as the Samarian girl (John 4:16), adultery girl (John 8:11) and Zacchaeus (Luke 19:8)
4. He realize that he can redeem. It is like the patient needs a doctor.(The patient can be healed) (Mark 2:17) or like the parable of 2 sons (Matt 21:28)
5. Help with sincerity (Luke 11:15), show your sincerity (John 15:15).
There are some samples as David Viggerson, Niggy Cruz- the head of the gangster or Katherine Wallace who help the ones in the prison. We can be friends with others because we have Jesus as our real friend.
