A kind business man once gave each orphan in a home for discarded waifs a huge basket of fruit. All the children were quite unused to such luxury, so they quickly devoured every fruit. All except one little orphan. He insisted on keeping his basket of fruit on the window sill for entire day.
The matron of the home was very intrigued by the little boy’s behaviour, so she called him to her and asked him why he wanted his basket on the window sill.
“Well,” he said wistfully. “I want everyone who passes by to see it and to know that someone cares for me.”
We are here in the world because Someone cares, and we have been placed here to tell others about this Someone who cared enough to give His life for them. Let us never take this task lightly.
