Suppose a man calls himself a doctor and set up a private clinic in Hong Kong, Singapore or New Delhi. The authorities would first want to check his credentials. But suppose this man tells them: “I don’t have any credentials and I don’t need them. You see, my great-grandfather was a medical man, my grandfather was a doctor, my father was professor of medicine, my mother was a nurse, and I can prove that I was born in one of the best hospitals in the world!”

The man belongs either in Lunatic asylum or behind bars, Yet how many, many people claim they are Christians because their father and grandfathers were.
