Bangkok Fellowship Church

They were too late.

                        G. D. James

One of the congregation members of a large church in the Philippines died. Wreaths a messages of condolences began to pour into the home of the grief-stricken widower. As he read each card extolling his late wife’s virtues, he broke down and wept.  Why didn’t they say all this when she was alive? He went on to explain that his wife had been sick for many months, but during that time no one had bothered to come and visit her. Now that she was dead, everyone was so eager to show her love and concern for her. Is our love and concern reserved only for funerals and for dead woman who do not need it?
