Sadhu Sundar Singh, that well-known saint of God, was distributing some copies of John’s gospel on a train when one of the men to whom he gave one of the gospels took the little book, tore it to pieces and threw the pieces out of the train window.
It so happened that one of the little pieces fluttered to the feet of a man who was walking along the rail lines, anxiously seeking for truth. He picked it up, and read in his own language the words “the Bread of Life”. Not knowing what it meant, but anxious to find out, he took the paper to a friend, who told him that it was from the Bible.
The man thought for a moment, then decided that he wanted to read the rest of the book which contained this beautiful phrase. And as he read it, the Holy Spirit began reading it. And he accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour.
